Brad Morton graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology and received an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Western Kentucky University. In 2006, Brad started Morton Energy, which eventually morphed into Morton Solar & Electric. He has 20 years in the Automation Industry as an Electrical Engineer. Brad is very passionate about reducing the size of our community’s carbon footprint, which is why he has become so involved in the renewable energy industry throughout his career.
KaCee grew up in Evansville for most of her life and married her high school sweetheart, with whom they share a son! She lived in Hawaii for a while where she worked for an electrician who was building smart homes. Her professional background includes mostly accounting work, but she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty to help the team get the job done.
Melissa is from Henderson, KY and has 15 years experience in administrative support to bolster her role at Morton Solar. Growing up with a family business, Melissa believes that core values are the backbone of an organization and hopes to advocate for Morton Solar's core values within the team and the way we do business.
Director of Strategic Development
Alex Schmitt is from Ireland, IN. He received a B.S. in Physics and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Evansville in 2016. Upon graduating, Alex joined Morton Solar. He has contributed to installation, administration, designing, project management, procurement, and sales. He has been involved in the installation of over 7 MW (DC) worth of PV solar projects. Alex is currently the Director of Strategic Development where he is responsible for estimating and company management. In his free time, Alex enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, and traveling.
Marketing; Solar Solutions Consultant
Hannah is from Newburgh, IN and attended the University of Evansville for Marketing and Management. She once gave a TEDx talk, was selected to be in the 20 under 40 issue of News4U magazine, was honored with the individual Civic Engagement Award at the Celebration of Leadership, and accepted another COL award for the Mickey's Kingdom Park project with fellow committee chairs. She began work with Morton Solar educate her community on renewable energy. In Hannah’s free time and at work, she has worked on community engagement efforts with organizations like Leadership Everyone, where she serves on the board, UE, and the police department.
Project Manager & Electrical Estimator
Art Owen is from Evansville and completed the NJATC for the Electrical Industry. He currently holds the Vanderburgh County Electrical Masters License and the Vanderburgh County Local License. Art has approximately 38 years experience in the electrical industry as an electrician as well as estimating, project management and supervisory experience.
Monquale (Monie) is from Evansville, IN and has completed a 5 year electrical apprenticeship with the NJATC/IBEW and 26 years in the electrical construction industry. Together with a A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology and experience while working for an Engineer/Design company, Monie brings knowledge and ideas to Morton Solar. In his spare time, he enjoys time with family - especially his only grandchild Kaden, fishing and favorite hobby, Ham Radio.
Business Development & Project Manager
Lauren is from Orange County, California and has over 10 years of experience in the solar industry. Throughout her professional career, she has worked with SunPower, an industry and world leader in the solar industry. Together with her project management and solar expertise, Lauren brings knowledge and insights that will be beneficial to Morton Solar.

Austin is from Henderson, KY and is currently completing his degree from the University of Southern Indiana in Business Management. In his years of education and work experience, he has completed a number of unique marketing initiatives and he hopes to bring that experience to further Morton Solar's mission.
