15th Anniversary Top Solar Contractors in a Morton Solar theme

Morton Solar is proud to announce that we have once again been recognized as one of the nation’s top solar contractors by Solar Power World.

On the publication’s 2025 Top Solar Contractors List, Morton Solar earned the following rankings:

  • No. 376 among solar contractors nationwide

  • No. 15 among contractors completing solar projects in Indiana

  • 594.94 kW of solar capacity installed nationwide during 2024

  • 512.72 kW installed within Indiana during 2024

Solar Power World also recognized Morton Solar as an engineering, procurement, and construction contractor serving both commercial and industrial and residential markets.

This national recognition represents more than our installed capacity. It reflects the homeowners, businesses, farms, nonprofits, municipalities, and organizations that trusted Morton Solar to help build a more dependable energy future.

What Is the Top Solar Contractors List?

Solar Power World is a leading publication covering solar installation, technology, policy, and industry developments throughout the United States.

Each year, the publication releases its Top Solar Contractors List to recognize companies contributing to the growth of the American solar industry. The 2025 rankings are based on the amount of solar capacity participating contractors reported installing during the 2024 calendar year.

The national list includes companies working in residential, commercial and industrial, community solar, and utility-scale markets. It also represents multiple service categories, including developers, EPC contractors, installers, electrical subcontractors, and sales partners.

Morton Solar’s inclusion places our locally based team alongside solar companies working throughout the country.

Proudly Representing Indiana

Morton Solar ranked No. 15 among contractors completing solar installations in Indiana.

Of the 594.94 kW that we installed nationwide during 2024, 512.72 kW was installed in Indiana. That means more than 86% of the capacity reflected in our national ranking was installed in our home state.

As an Evansville-based solar and electrical contractor, we are especially proud of this achievement. Indiana is where we started, where many of our employees live, and where we continue to help families, businesses, and community organizations take greater control of their energy.

Our experience in the region also gives us an understanding of local utilities, permitting requirements, building conditions, electricity rates, and customer needs. That local knowledge is an important part of delivering solar installations designed for long-term performance.

More Than an Installation Company

Solar Power World identifies Morton Solar as an EPC contractor. EPC stands for engineering, procurement, and construction.

This designation reflects our ability to manage the major phases of a solar project, including:

  • Property and energy-use evaluation

  • System engineering and design

  • Equipment selection and procurement

  • Permitting and utility coordination

  • Electrical and solar construction

  • Testing and inspection

  • Utility interconnection

  • Customer education and continued support

Managing these responsibilities through an experienced project team helps create a more coordinated process from the initial evaluation to final system activation.

Every property and customer has different requirements. That is why we approach each project individually instead of treating solar as a one-size-fits-all product.

Serving Residential and Commercial Customers

Morton Solar was recognized for its work in both residential and commercial and industrial markets.

For homeowners, solar can provide greater control over long-term electricity costs while allowing families to generate more of their power on their own property. When paired with battery storage, a properly designed system may also provide additional energy resilience during power outages.

For businesses and organizations, solar can become a long-term infrastructure investment. A commercial system may help reduce operating expenses, improve energy-cost predictability, support sustainability goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the surrounding community.

Our team works with a broad range of customers, including:

  • Homeowners

  • Commercial businesses

  • Industrial facilities

  • Farms and agricultural operations

  • Nonprofit organizations

  • Churches

  • Schools

  • Municipalities and government facilities

Regardless of the project’s size, our goal is to design a dependable energy solution around the customer’s property, consumption, budget, and long-term objectives.

Every Kilowatt Represents a Customer

Industry rankings are often presented through numbers, but every kilowatt on this list represents a real customer and an important decision.

It may represent a family looking for more predictable energy costs, a business investing in its facility, a nonprofit trying to direct more resources toward its mission, or a municipality planning for its community’s future.

Our 2025 ranking would not have been possible without the customers who trusted us with those decisions.

It also reflects the work of our employees, who evaluate sites, engineer systems, coordinate equipment, manage permits, complete electrical work, install solar arrays, navigate utility requirements, and support customers after their systems are operating.

We are grateful to our project partners, suppliers, utilities, inspectors, and community supporters for contributing to each successful installation.

Continuing to Build the Tri-State’s Energy Future

While this recognition gives us an opportunity to look back at what our team accomplished during 2024, our focus remains on what comes next.

Morton Solar will continue helping homeowners and organizations understand whether solar and energy storage make sense for their needs. That means providing straightforward information, realistic system expectations, professional electrical work, and solutions designed around each customer—not simply the number of panels that can fit on a roof.

From our home in Evansville, we are proud to serve customers throughout Indiana, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and the greater Tri-State.

Being named a 2025 Top Solar Contractor is an honor. It is also a responsibility to continue earning the confidence our customers and communities place in us.

From everyone at Morton Solar, thank you for helping us reach this milestone. We look forward to continuing to build a stronger and more independent energy future—one project at a time.
